OptiMiser has identified 1.4 million residential customers who are candidates for load shifting programs and energy efficiency upgrades. By improving their auditing tool, they can help a larger number
READ MORELoad shifting can potentially drive many benefits, for example: Load shifting away from times of extreme peak demand can alleviate strain on the grid,
READ MOREThe dashed lines correspond to the 100%, 50% and 10% levels, which correspond to 3.09%, 10.76% and 41.58% of all cases. It is clear that adding a small amount of shifting can give a significant boost in flexibility over the whole system, with a maximum increase of 268%, as measured by the flexibility index.
READ MOREEnergy storage can be used to shift the peak generation from the PV system to be used when the demand requires it, as shown in Figure 3. Excess energy can be stored during peak PV generation. This allows for the distribution of this energy when the PV system is not generating adequate power, or not generating at all.
READ MOREA price-based control method was used to create peak load shifting. RT25HC was a suitable PCM for heating purpose, but less attractive for cooling. A daily energy and cost-savings up to 47% and 65% were achieved in winter. A daily energy and cost-savings up to 23% and 42% were achieved in summer.

Obviously, there are some things you can''t schedule, like your fridge running or when you cook dinner. However, we''ve put together some simple tips to help you become a load-shifter. 1. Cooling or heating your house before you get
READ MOREThe idea of load shifting is to adjust your energy consumption pattern. Instead of using energy during peak hours when everyone else is also trying to power up, you shift your consumption to off-peak hours when demand is lowest. In this case, "load" refers to the amount of electricity being used at a given time, and load shifting is all
